Portable Digital Microwave Link

The Portable Digital Microwave Link (PDML-105 Series) is used to meet the requirements of video and audio transmission contents for portable live applications.

PDML-105 series is composed of a split configuration with head and control units separated up to 300 meters; the head and control are connected through triax cable. Bandwidth efficiency with outstanding performance can be provided by COFDM 2k/8k DVB-T modulation/demodulation, and different coding rates make transmission channel resilient in multipath interference environments and signal transmission up to 30Km distances.

Input interfaces can be selected from analog video and audio, digital SDI/ASI with embedded stereo audio, or AES/EBU channel. The analog video is sampled to 270Mbps SDI data and along with the digital audio in AES/EBU format are compressed by embedded MPEG-2 encoder with selectable preset bit rates and 4:2:0/4:2:2 compression formats. Then the ASI compressed data is applied to the COFDM modulator which provides a standard 70MHz IF.

The IF signal is up converted to 10.4~10.7GHz frequency via ultra low phase noise synthesizers and the signal is amplified through highly linearzed amplifier stage. Finally, the RF signal is propagated by a high gain 60cm parabolic antenna. In the recieve side the above process is reversed through recieved Head Unit and internal COFDM demodulator and video decoder units.

The RF Head Units is completely waterproofed and can be installed on the aluminum duty tripod. Transmit and receive units, tripod, cable drum, and antenna can be transported easily with suitable light cases.
